A New Year blossoms

Another year has flown by on Medham Farm and once again our beautiful little cottage has been fully booked all year with the nicest guests we could ever hope to meet, curiously often with a dog or two in tow. The year started briliantly with our 5-Star Rating re-confirmed by Visit England, and we were also awarded a Gold Star (don't you know) for outstanding quality and customer service. Well, we do aim to please! For 2015 we have installed a new smart television, re-decorated throughout and thought about a few other tiny little improvements to make your holiday as perfect as possible.

One of the things are guests constantly comment about is the quality of light on the island, and in particular the spectacular sunrises you can see from Medham Farm Cottage. Here is one of our favourite taken on a misty October morning. You can see the fog in the distance hanging lagubriously over the River Medina, and just look at those vapour trails!

On the farm the pregnant ewes, particularly radiant this year I may add, are busy munching their way through the winter grass before lambing gets under way and we have been busy thinning out our extensive woodlands, letting loads more light onto the woodland floor. The bluebells promise to be absolutely amazing this year and we have doremice once again for the first time in years. More than that, we saw an otter on the river this year, the first time one has been seen on the river since the 1960's. How wonderful is that?

We look forward to meeting everyone in 2015 and welcoming you all to the incredibly beautiful setting of Medham Farm.

Oh, and do check out our new sister business, Tipsy Wight at We have been busy making vodka infused with hedgerow fruits and berries quietly in our barns for the last two years and in 2014 the business launched properly, and we are pleased to say with lovely reviews. We supplied the truly amazing Bestival and Camp Bestival this year, and are available on-line, at Wine Therapy in Cowes and in a few extremely exclusive restaurants and clubs in London and Edinburgh.
